Large boat pictured grounded at River Trent in Stoke Bardolph

Concerns have been raised for a boat left on the banks of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire.

The large vessel was spotted by walkers, with one witness telling Nottinghamshire Live police officers had visited earlier this week.

It was unclear if the boat, located at Stoke Lane in Stoke Bardolph, had been abandoned following the recent floods that affected parts of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Police said they were called out on Monday (March 15) regarding people out walking being seen climbing on board and there were "concerns for welfare".

Officers attended shortly after 1pm on Wednesday where advice was given and no further was action taken.

Responding to the reports, a spokesperson for the Canal and River Trust for the East Midlands confirmed the boating team had been made aware of the boat and are taking steps with the owner to get it removed.
