A Laois GAA club has paused activities as a precautionary measure due to Covid-19.
A statement released by Kileshin GAA this evening exlpained that one of the club's teams had come into contact with a person that has tested positive for the coronavirus.
As a result, club activities will be paused until July 27.
A statement on the club's Facebook page read: "Killeshin GAA would like to let our members know as a precautionary measure we have decided to press pause on all club activities until Monday July 27th.
"This is a precautionary measure, as one of our teams has been in contact with a person who subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.
We in Killeshin GAA feel it sensible and prudent to temporarily close our grounds and suspend both underage and adult group activities.
"We understand that anyone identified by Public Health authorities as a close contact will be tested for COVID-19 We will keep you posted on resumption of activities, and we remind you to respect the privacy of all involved. Thank you."
Clubs have been taking measures to ensure members are kept safe amid the pandemic, with Co Down club Atticall GAC suspending all club activity until at least Sunday, July 19 earlier this week.
The GAA also decided this week that club dressing rooms and other indoor facilities will remain shut beyond next week.
It was initially intended that dressing rooms would reopen from Monday next as competitive action ramps up again but the GAA rowed back on that stance following a meeting of its Covid Advisory Group.
