Langwith Junction murder investigation: Police release update as hunt for killer continues

A man remains in a critical condition after an attack left his wife dead in a village on the boarder of Nottinghamshire.

A murder investigation into the attack is now into its third day.

Freda Walker, 86, has died after she was attacked in her home, along with her husband Ken, who was left in a serious condition in hospital following the incident on Saturday, January 15.

Derbyshire police said that "Ken remains in hospital in a critical condition".

Police have confirmed Mr Walker remains in hospital in a critical condition as of Tuesday, January 18.

The investigation is being carried out by Derbyshire police.

It comes after Nottinghamshire Police said they were "keeping an open mind" as to to whether the incident may be linked with a violent attack in Trowell village earlier this month.
