Lane Kiffin seemed to enjoy getting fined $5K for a blind ref meme, calls out LeBron James

Lane Kiffin was not happy with the officials in Florida Atlantic’s 36-31 loss to Marshall on Saturday so he did what anybody would do if they had the Twitter app on their phone – he posted a meme of some blind refs using walking sticks and using guide dogs and at-mentioned the league that his team plays in.

Because of course.

Kiffin has never been one to shy away from sharing his feelings on things or stirring things up a bit on social media, so this move wasn’t a surprise.

But on Sunday he found out that he had been fined $5,000 by Conference USA for violating the league’s sportsmanship policy, which sounds pretty lame.

Here’s the tweet that got him in trouble, as well his tweet in which it appears that he enjoyed getting fined.

He spoke to ESPN about it on Sunday and brought LeBron James’ name into it:

“I just lost $5,000 for a tweet,” Kiffin told ESPN on Sunday. “We have freedom of speech, but I guess around here there’s no such thing as freedom to tweet. Maybe LeBron James will come out and comment about it tomorrow.”

He also tried to get LeBron’s attention on Twitter:

And told a fan he’d donate to a GoFundMe for himself:

Never change, Lane Kiffin.
