Lane Johnson says Andre Dillard will be one of the ‘premiere’ OL in a few years

When he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, Andre Dillard gained the fortune of getting a redshirt rookie season in the NFL, one that most first-round picks aren’t afforded. Dillard will be groomed by one of the best offensive lines in all of football.

His primary mentor, Jason Peters, is one of the NFL’s greatest left tackles ever, and a sure-fire first or second ballot Hall of Famer. Lane Johnson is a pretty good right tackle himself, and he’s taken notice of Dillard’s extraordinary athleticism and his unique intangibles.

While a guest on NFL Total Access on Monday, Johnson called Dillard a “dynamic” player and a guy who’ll turn into a great one when his time comes.

“Andre is a very dynamic individual. Watching him the first thing that pops out is his footwork and his athleticism,” Johnson said. “And I trust that he’ll be one of the premier ones here in a few years, once he gets his learning curve under his belt.”

In terms of his athleticism, Dillard is a little more linear, extremely quick, fast, and is probably more like Johnson as a player than Peters. Either way, the Eagles are set at tackle for years to come.
