Lane Johnson on Carson Wentz entering this season with a ‘different mental state’

Lane Johnson can always be counted on for a huge quote and the Eagles right tackle didn’t disappoint on Monday when he was a guest on the NFL Network. Johnson, who is preparing to co-host his Offensive Line Masterminds conference with former offensive line coach Duke Mayweather, took time out to join “NFL Total Access” on Monday and discuss a variety of topics.

The topic on everyone’s mind, of course, is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz and how he’s progressing after having an entire offseason to perfect his craft. Johnson didn’t hold back when raving about Wentz, admitting to the panel that he sees a different variation of his quarterback, one that is locked into a totally “different mental state” than in past offseasons.

“Everyday when I walk in the building, all I see is him in there before everybody else. Rehabbing, doing whatever it takes. I just think he’s in a different mental state than he’s ever been in terms of training and ignoring distractions and really trying to be the best player he is,” Johnson said, via Yahoo Sports! “I just see a hard worker and a guy who is about to do some big things this season.”

Johnson has been Wentz’ biggest supporter in the Eagles locker room and he’s just one of many around the Birds star signal-caller, who has constantly predicted a huge season for Wentz.
