Landslip near Shotts Station disrupts Scotrail services

A landslip in Shotts closed part of a train line disrupting ScotRail services between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

ScotRail confirmed reports of the landslip on Sunday morning near Shotts Station.

Upcoming services between Glasgow Central Station and Edinburgh have been disrupted as a result of the landslip.

The trains will on longer call at Hartwood, Cleland, Carfin, Holytown, Bellshill and Uddingston in both directions.

A representative from ScotRail said on Sunday said: “Due to reports of a landslip near Shotts, the line through there is currently closed.

“If you need to travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh, please use our services to or from Queen Street Low Level.”

ScotRail later confirmed that engineers were on the scene and are inspecting the line.
