Landon Collins won’t say the word ‘Giants’

Washington Redskins safety Landon Collins doesn’t even want to say the word “Giants” anymore.

The former Giants safety has had plenty to say about Washington’s NFC East rival this offseason after the franchise let him go without much of a fight.

In a recent interview, he simply referred to them as “the other team I was on.”

Chris Lingebach added more from the interview:

“You didn’t say their name,” I observed. “Was that intentional?”

“It’s no point,” Collins said. “It’s no point in saying their name.”

The gist of the interview was harmless — Collins was simpy stressing he has plenty to play for this year. Not only is he with a new team, he didn’t play full seasons in either of the past two years.

But Collins has to be careful lest he engages in any accidental trash talk about a divisional rival and stokes the flames.

Yet, even in avoiding saying the Giants name, he might have anyway.
