Landon Collins still has hope for this Redskins season

Landon Collins is one of those players who isn’t giving up on the Washington Redskins.

Despite the wild week, highlighted by being the first team to fire a head coach this year, the Redskins leader says the transition to Bill Callahan has been inspiring.

“It’s been good, more uptempo, more upbeat, a lot more physical as a team, which will make the players a little tougher,” Collins said, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “It’s been positive. We don’t think the season’s over with.”

And while guys like Chris Thompson have explained why they got emotional over the firing of Jay Gruden, even the running back has noted plenty of players have seemed happy under the new direction.

Collins noted Callahan got the team’s attention by making them run gassers after practices, giving things a training-camp vibe. He also said the uptick in tempo is just what the Redskins need to prep for gamedays.

We’ll see if it pans out on the field, but Callahan gets a big win with one of the team’s biggest stars speaking on the changes like this.
