Landon Collins says Redskins got draft’s best QB

Washington Redskins safety Landon Collins appreciates Daniel Jones of the New York Giants — but he isn’t teammate Dwayne Haskins, clearly.

Collins spoke with the media recently and made it clear he’s happy Jones was able to make it out to a charity event. But on the field, he’s adamant the Redskins got the best rookie passer.

“I appreciate Daniel Jones coming out here, but I still think we got the best quarterback in the draft,” Collins told reporters.

Collins wouldn’t say anything else given the context, of course. But it is still interesting to consider after the Giants were routinely criticized for drafting Jones sixth overall and the Redskins plucked Haskins out of a fall at No. 15.

Either way, fans of both NFC East clubs are quite a long way from finding out who ends up better as both Haskins and Jones have to battle veterans Case Keenum and Eli Manning, respectively.

At least for now, fans know where Collins stands on the topic.
