Landon Collins returns to the field for Day 3 of OTAs

In the 2019 Free Agency period, the Washington Redskins bought a new car with a fresh coat of paint. Now just a couple of months later, that car is about ready to get out of the garage.

Safety Landon Collins returned to the field on Thursday for Day 3 of OTAs, this time donning a Wahington helmet and the No. 20 across his chest. While he has spent the last several months rehabbing a shoulder surgery that took place in December, the time has finally come for Collins to get back into the mix at practice.

Collins is still easing back into the swing of things, but the three-time Pro-Bowler took place in individual drills with his fellow defensive backs, as well as participating in 7-on-7 drills. He did not take part in 11-on-11 drills just yet.

“I’m taking it step-by-step, making sure that everything is fine and everything is going the proper way,” Collins said, via Redskins.com. “I’m taking the right steps towards being fully healthy and ready for the season.”

There is still some recovery time left ahead, but it is highly encouraging to see Collins out there with his teammates, getting some reps in a new defense. Should things continue to progress on the current trajectory, this season will be entertaining, to say the least.
