Landon Collins will get to remind the Giants twice a year why they erred in letting him walk.
Collins, 25, the three-time Pro Bowl strong safety, agreed to a six-year, $84 million contract with Washington on Monday to stay in the NFC East, per ESPN and NFL Network.
Giants GM Dave Gettleman let Collins walk into free agency at the end of his rookie contract instead of franchise-tagging him at $11.15 million for 2019 or negotiating a long-term deal.
Collins had threatened to hold out if the Giants had tagged him, and the Giants also didn't want to spend the money on him even for one more year.
Collins' idol growing up was late former Washington safety Sean Taylor. He wears No. 21 in Taylor's honor. And now he'll wear the same uniform as the safety he revered, and in the process he'll try to make the Giants pay for letting him go.
