Landon Collins refuses to say the word ‘Giants’

Two former members of the New York Giants, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and safety Landon Collins, appear to be playing a secret game that no one else is in on.

Each time one mentions the New York Giants, one is apparently tasked with attempting to one-up the other.

Needles to say, to no one’s surprise, mere hours after a GQ interview with Beckham dropped — one in which he viciously attacked his former team — Collins felt the need to outshine his former teammate, blatantly refusing to even address the Giants by name.

“I have something to play for, just within myself, because I haven’t finished the last two years,” Collins told 106.7 The Fan in Northern Virginia in response to an unrelated question. “For that reason and just knowing what I can do, and the struggles I’ve been through with the other team I was on, I know I can be better.”

Noting that Collins deliberately avoided mentioning the Giants, the hosts pressed him.

“It’s no point,” Collins said about naming his former team. “It’s no point in saying their name.”

The Giants, sensing a level of immaturity defining their superstars, chose to walk away from both Beckham and Collins this offseason, trading the former to the Cleveland Browns and allowing the latter to leave in free agency.

While the two clearly seem frustrated with those decisions, each time they meet with the media, they make an argument in Dave Gettleman’s favor.
