Landon Collins: Giants GM Dave Gettleman lied to everyone

Washington Redskins safety Landon Collins has channeled his inner Josh Norman and can’t seem to stop talking about the New York Giants and general manager Dave Gettleman.

Forty-eight hours removed from a scathing interview in which he ripped Gettleman for letting him walk and trading away other talent because of their desire for a “culture change,” Collins was back at it on Thursday morning.

While appearing on “Good Morning Football,” Collins took his criticism of Gettleman to a new level, calling the general manager a liar.

The Giants, of course, did not sign Beckham to a contract extension with the intent to trade him, but everyone has a price when Gettleman is in control — that’s just how he operates.

In fact, Collins even previously alluded to that, saying he wasn’t surprised that Beckham got traded. Apparently that notion has since changed in his mind.

Collins and Beckham aren’t the first pair of former teammates to take issue with the way Gettleman does things. The aforementioned Norman, as well as running back DeAngelo Williams, have made their disdain for Gettleman abundantly clear over the years.

Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has also chimed in on Gettleman with the same sort of derision as the others.

Gettleman isn’t loved for the way he does business and that’s not likely to change. However, until his resume stops reading like a Hall of Famer’s, it’s hard to knock the man. He continues to experience a level of success none of his critics have, and that includes Collins, who appears to be spending an inordinate amount of time talking about Gettleman and the Giants instead integrating to his new team.
