Landon Collins avoids franchise tag, will sign for six years, $84 million with Redskins

With one signing, former New York Giant Landon Collins was able to crush two birds with one stone.

It was reported by ESPN’s Josina Anderson on Monday that Collins is signing a six-year, $84 million contract with Washington.

The Giants opted against putting the $11.15 million franchise tag on Collins, and would not give him a long term deal. Instead, the 25-year-old Safety will be making $14 million a year in Washington.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport claims that the deal includes $45 million in guaranteed money to be paid out over the first three years of the contract.
