Lando Norris has watch stolen at Wembley after watching England's Euro 2020 final defeat

Formula One star Lando Norris has been left “shaken” after his watch was stolen at Wembley following England's Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.

The Bristol-born McLaren driver watched Gareth Southgate's side lose 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw but was then involved in what his team described as an “incident” after the game.

Norris, who is set to compete in this weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, had posted a picture of himself on Instagram attending the showpiece.

A McLaren statement read: “McLaren Racing can confirm that Lando Norris was involved in an incident, after the Euro 2020 final match at Wembley, during which the watch he was wearing was taken.

“Thankfully, Lando was unharmed but he is understandably shaken.

“The team is supporting Lando and we are sure that racing fans will join us in wishing him all the best for the British Grand Prix this weekend.

“As this is now a police matter we cannot comment further.”

The Metropolitan Police said there had been 53 arrests connected to the match for a variety of offences. The force also reported 19 officers had been injured as they confronted “volatile” crowds.
