Landlord releases CCTV of moment a mystery dog did a poo in his pub

This is the moment a dog answered a call of nature inside a Bristol pub last night, prompting the landlord to issue a public appeal for the owner to own up.

Ian Pace, the landlord of the Star Inn in Pucklechurch, released a CCTV clip of the moment on Friday night that a large dog left the throng of the pub, went to go out of the back door, but found it was closed - and simply did its business on the carpet in the pub’s conservatory.

No one discovered it for a while, and the dog and its owner had already left - but the gift meant the conservatory had to be closed off.

Scanning back through the CCTV, Ian found the moment it happened, and is now hopeful the owner will step forward and take responsibility for what happened.

The dog appears to be a labradoodle, but could be another kind of poodle cross.

On behalf of landlords and pub managers everywhere, he urged dog owners to always take responsibility for their animals when coming into pubs.

“Can someone please take responsibility for this?” he asked.

“We've always welcomed dogs into the pub, but irresponsible owners will ruin this for everyone else,” he added.

The clear up operation was not pleasant.

“It was everywhere,” said Ian.

“We're going to have to get the carpet cleaned. We've had to close off the conservatory,” he added.
