Lanarkshire Women in Business to run digital webinar

Lanarkshire Women in Business will host a Zoom webinar entitled “Go Digital” later this month, as the year-long pilot project comes to an end.

Aimed at “women at the helm of new, existing and expanding local businesses, and female employees with a digital remit”, the session takes place on Thursday, September 17, from 10am until 12 noon.

It will include sessions on developing a digital vision, hearing from local firms including on e-commerce, and support available including digital development loans, events and consultancy support, and free digital skills training from New College Lanarkshire.

The keynote speaker will be Cheryl Bennett of cloud and digital transformation specialists Agilisys, who will speak about her career journey and “what’s coming over the digital horizon”.

North Lanarkshire Council enterprise manager Yvonne Weir said: “Our GO Digital event aims to support women in dispensing with the complexity that often surrounds digital narrative.

“Digital can be a key factor in driving business efficiencies, competitiveness, creativity, innovation and growth – it can be challenging, but we want to bring women together around the subject to show what’s possible and achievable with the right direction and connections.”

The online event is the fourth and final one to be scheduled as part of the 12-month Lanarkshire Women in Business pilot, run by North and South Lanarkshire Councils, Business Gateway Lanarkshire, Federation of Small Businesses and New College Lanarkshire and intended “to increase the presence and performance of female-led businesses” in the county.

Bookings for the webinar can be made at www.bgateway.com/events/lanarkshire-women-in-business-go-digital-event-18206; and further information is available by emailing businesssupport@northlan.gov.uk.
