Lanarkshire woman accused of sex act while being searched

A Lanarkshire woman is accused of making sexual comments to police officers while being body searched.

Samantha Smith allegedly committed the crime at Glasgow's Helen Street Police Office on September 1.

The 32-year-old is claimed to have intentionally engaged in sexual activity in the presence of three female police officers in the execution of their duty.

Court papers state Smith repeatedly carried out a sex act on herself and repeatedly uttered sexual comments to the officers.

It is stated this was done during a lawful search of her person.

Smith faces a separate charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on the same date in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire.

Smith allegedly shouted and swore at two female officers in the execution of their duty.

It is claimed that she acted in an aggressive manner towards them, repeatedly uttered offensive remarks at them as well as threats of violence.

Smith is then said to have thrown items of clothing and other items of property at them, repeatedly failed to desist from her aggressive and disorderly conduct despite repeated requests to do so.

Smith pled not guilty last week at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the two charges.

A continued hearing was fixed for January next year by sheriff Andrew Cubie.
