Lanarkshire is set to be hit with heavy snow tomorrow as Storm Barra closes in.
Much of the country has only just recovered from Storm Arwen, with Lanarkshire avoiding the worst of that.
However, Storm Barra is expected to bring strong winds, heavy rain and some snow to the UK on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
That has seen weather experts at the Met Office issue a yellow warning for Tuesday in particular.
Forecasters have warned of a 13-hour storm window, which is expected to batter the region from 11am until around midnight.
And they say that travel disruption is likely if the cold snap does indeed hit
Throughout the day, temperatures will struggle to get above 1°, with the 'feels like' temperature expected to be around -5°.
The weather boffins said: “A band of rain will turn to snow across Northern England and Scotland through Tuesday.
“Two-to-five centimetres is expected to accumulate quite widely across the area, but locally this could reach 10 cm, particularly in parts of the Southern Uplands and Highlands.
“Strong southeasterly winds will also lead to snow drifting in places, particularly over the highest routes, adding to poor visibilities.”
