A Rutherglen teenager is heading to the States to pursue a sporting scholarship.
Emily Moran is embarking on a life-changing adventure as she heads across the Atlantic to start a US sports scholarship at the University of Houston-Victoria, Texas.
The 18-year-old footballer will pursue a new journey combining sport with academia.
The central defender will pursue her studies at the same time as training and playing with the UHV Jaguars, the college’s women’s soccer team.
Former Glasgow City star Emily made the move to the States with the support of FirstPoint USA, who have helped thousands of young sports men and women secure sought-after scholarships in the USA.
Andrew Kean, FirstPoint USA founder and CEO, said: “Everyone at FirstPoint USA is really excited for Emily and wishes her the very best as her journey begins in a completely new environment.
“There is so much to be gained from a sports scholarship in the USA, not just in an academic and sporting sense, but also the wider cultural and lifestyle experiences and friends for life met along the way.”
