Lanarkshire social enterprise looks forward to hosting its first eco-friendly market

A Lanarkshire social enterprise is looking forward to hosting its very own Christmas market - and it will be completely eco-friendly.

The Green Robin, started by Emma Ferla, is a social enterprise operating in and around Lanarkshire, promoting a plastic-free and zero-waste lifestyle.

Emma, who stays in Coltness, started The Green Robin with the aim of giving local businesses a platform to sell and promote their crafts and products.

But this Saturday they will have even more of a platform, as they invite local arts and craft businesses to take part in their first-ever Christmas market.

Held at the LAMH Food for Thought café in Wishaw, Emma has arranged for a number of local businesses to sell their goods at a Christmas-style market.

Emma told Lanarkshire Live all about the stalls on offer and what people can expect from the event.

She told us : "We offer the finest specially curated plastic-free products from UK brands and provide a platform for local ethical and sustainable makers to promote their work through the website and events.

"The Green Robin also specialises in delivering upcycling workshops and zero waste community and education events, such as this market.

"There will be lots on offer on Saturday to suit all ages, including stalls, workshops and things to keep kids happy too.

"There are stalls from all over the local area offering recycled jewellery, eco-friendly candles, handmade baby knits and so much more.

"We will also have a free make your own tree ornament workshop table, make your own sea glass decorations as well as an activity booklet for children."

The event will be hosted upstairs at LAMH's Food for Thought café in Wishaw and will take place between 11 am and 3 pm.
