A Lanarkshire singer is gearing up for the release of her new single.
Rebekah Kirk fronts the metalcore band Sixth Wonder, who will drop their latest heavy track The Deal tomorrow, October 1.
The Cambuslang musician previously built up a strong reputation on the back of her solo shows and songs, before a project at university saw Sixth Wonder develop alongside bandmate Nathan Kirkwood on a variety of instruments.
The teenager told Lanarkshire Live: "It was something for uni (UWS) and Nathan was basically the session musician for it.
"Then the reaction came back to the track and people were saying it was really good, and worth carrying on with, so we decided we would continue.
"Over the past couple of years I'd really been getting into metal more too, and wanting to explore that. Usually I write the songs with a basic outline on piano, and then send them over to Nathan to add what he wants around them."
Earlier this year the band delivered a hard-hitting debut with first single Stay Away, and now The Deal offers an equally muscular tune, blending pop vocals and intense guitar work.

The Deal itself is centred around someone striking a bargain with the devil, who soon discovers they have reason to regret their decision.
Rebekah explained: "When writing I've never gone in with a direct theme in mind, it just happened that this one came together as a story piece. Usually I just write lyrics and then take a step back to look over it and see how it all works together, whereas this is very much a story."
Rebekah is now in her honours year at university, and as well as her studies is looking forward to getting back on stage soon, having seen over 18 months worth of shows wiped out due to Covid-19.
The singer, who takes inspiration from the likes of heavy metal band Spiritbox and their frontwoman Courtney LaPlante, is hoping to mix her new band with solo material in the coming months.
She added: "It's been quite a while, so it'll be good to perform again soon."
The Deal is available on streaming platforms, with the video on YouTube. Visit here for more on Sixth Wonder.
