Lanarkshire shoppers can grab bargain or two at Wishaw indoor market

Lanarkshire shoppers are being urged to take grab themselves a bargain or two at an upcoming indoor market in Wishaw.

The Too Good To Throw market will be coming to Wishaw Sports Centre on Saturday, March 4, with event organiser Leeann Gillespie hoping for a huge turnout on the day.

Speaking to Lanarkshire Live this week, Leeann said: “Our market is aimed at reusing, recycling and encouraging everyone to re-sell items they no longer need. We are encouraging people to turn their stash into cash by selling any items in their home that they may no longer use but that are simply ‘Too Good To Throw’.

“Alongside that, our market is a fantastic opportunity for buyers to find inflation-busting bargains for a fraction of the normal cost.

“This market is a brilliant way for families or people who may be struggling, to pick-up clothes, shoes and toys for a fantastic low price.

“On the day there will be stalls selling a huge variety of new, preloved, nearly-new clothes, shoes, baby items, household goods, toys, games, and so much more.

“We also have a stall selling brand new Communion dresses for just £50. This is a huge saving on the normal recommended retail price of the dresses which all normally cost £250 or upwards.

“We also have many local businesses attending on the day too, each showcasing their fantastic products.”

The Too Good To Throw indoor market has already been a huge success in Bellshill and Holytown (WSH])

Around 60 stalls will be there on the day and a donation will also be given to a local charity.

Leeann added: “We have events in Bellshill and Holytown just before Christmas and the response was incredible.

“We all have clothes and toys in our homes which have barely been used and are too good to throw away.

“This is a chance for people to not only grab a bargain but also create a more sustainable world which is good for the environment.

“We will cap the number of stallholders at 60 but we could have filled the hall two or three times over.”

The market is open to the public from 1pm to 4pm. Entry fee is £1.50 per adult and under 16’s are free.

However, kids must be accompanied by an adult.
