A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an alleged firearm incident in Strathaven.
Cops raced to the market town on Monday evening following reports of a male brandishing a weapon in the area.
Officers scrambled to the Glasgow Road area around 5.10pm on Monday.
A spokeswoman for the force confirmed a 15-year-old boy had been arrested in connection, saying one alleged weapon was recovered.
An exact description of the weapon was not provided. and no injuries were reported.
The spokeswoman said: "At around 5.10pm on Monday, July, 19 we received a report of a male in possession of a weapon in the Glasgow Road area of Strathaven.
"Officers attended and a 15-year-old male youth has been arrested in connection.
"A weapon was recovered and there were no reports of any injuries."
