Lanarkshire rockers Anchor Lane set to showcase special online performance

A Lanarkshire rock band are eager to show fans their new live show as they prepare for a live stream event next weekend.

Anchor Lane are a hard rock band with members from Coatbridge and Moodiesburn. They haven't been able to play a gig since February last year, halting their album promo.

They released their debut record "Casino" in January last year and only got to play six shows to promote it, before the country was locked down.

The gig will be streamed on Saturday, May 1 and represents the band's first taste of a live gig since last year.

Frontman Connor Gaffney, 25, told Lanarkshire Live: "We were meant to play at the Dreadnought last April but obviously the way things were that was cancelled.

"We came up with a plan to record a live session at the venue and then stream that out to our fans.

"The hour-long gig is already recorded and will be streamed via a ticket link on May 1, starting about 7:30 pm.

"Tickets are a fiver and the stream can be watched up to a week after in case you miss it or fancy watching it again.

"It was so good to get back on stage and play our live set, even if there was no one there in the room.

"It was also our first "gig" playing with our new drummer Graeme, so again it felt special."

With restrictions beginning to gradually ease, bands like Anchor Lane are itching to get back to crowded rooms.

Indoor gigs with a capacity of fewer than 100 will be allowed as of Monday, and further news is expected to come for restrictions further easing on May 17.

"As soon as we can, we will be back on that stage and performing for our fans," Connor added.

"It's what bands have missed most, and we just can't wait to get back out there and play."

Tickets to the gig as well as all news about the band can be found here.
