Lanarkshire road will close for five days next month for carriageway resurfacing work

Coatbridge's Carnbroe Road is closing for five days next month.

This is to allow for the completion of carriageway resurfacing work and will apply between Drummore Avenue and the A8 Glasgow and Edinburgh Road, from January 24-28.

The latter road and the B802 Woodhall Mill Road, the B802 Main Street, the B802 Calderbank Road, Sykeside Road and Paddock Street will be on offer to motorists as alternative routes.

Pedestrian access will also be “permitted where practical during the closure”.

Meanwhile, Afton Gardens in Coatbridge will close for nearly nine hours on January 31.

The closure will be in place from Laxford Place to its termination between 9.30am and 6pm.

It is for ironwork repairs and motorists are advised there will be no alternative routes in place.

Further ironwork repairs will also see the town’s Old Monkland Road shut for the same time period next month.

Running from Rowan Place to Dunkeld Place, the closure will be between 9.30am and 6pm on February 20.

Diversions include School Street and Kirkshaws Road.
