Lanarkshire road to close for more than a month for 'network upgrade'

A Coatbridge road will close for more than a month next week.

The excavation of a carriageway and footway for a “network upgrade” will result in Crichton Street shutting from 9am on Friday, December 31, until February 11.

This will apply between the B803 Sunnyside Road and Lincoln Court, with the former road and Colt Terrace and the B804 Dunbeth Road acting as diversions.

And Craig Street in Coatbridge is shutting for four days from January 17 for carriageway resurfacing, from Ailsa Road to its “termination”; motorists are advised there will be no alternative routes available.

Finally, Glenboig’s Gain Road, between Mollinsburn Road and Yetts Hole Road, will close from 9pm to 6am on January 27 and 31 for work by Scottish Water; the latter two roads will be diverted routes.
