Lanarkshire road shut for two weeks for emergency work by Scottish Water

George Street in Airdrie is to be closed until Wednesday, December 1.

This is to allow for the completion of emergency works by Scottish Water, which will render the road inaccessible from Queen Victoria Street to Ralston Street.

Diversions on offer to motorists are Queen Victoria Street, Ralston Street and the A89 Alexander Street, while pedestrians can still access the road.

As well as this, a Coatbridge road is to shut from 8am until 6pm next Wednesday, November 24, for footway patching.

The closure affects Cumberland Place, between Sharp Avenue and property 29, and drivers are advised there are no alternative routes available to use.

Finally, iron work repairs will see Woodhall Avenue, Calderbank, shut for 24 hours from late on December 12.

The area affected will be from Monkland View to Burnside Avenue and drivers are asked to use Crowwood Road and Newbattle Avenue as diverted routes.
