Lanarkshire pub's bevvy delivery service returns today and includes Buckfast and cocktails

A popular Lanarkshire bar will return tonight (Friday, May 1) with their cocktail delivery service.

The Woodcutter Bar in Motherwell was forced to cut its service short, despite being inundated with orders, because they had to seek official approval.

However, tonight the bar will begin to deliver to your doorstep a range of cocktails for £6.

So if you fancy a Strawberry or Bubblegum Daiquiri, Drumstick, Bramble or Espresso Martini, then the Merry Street pub might just have the answer.

It’s not just cocktails though – the pub will deliver bottles of beer, alcopops and Buckfast direct to your doorstep.

The pub was taken over by local Chris McDiff, who became Motherwell’s youngest pub landlord in December 2019, and was excited about the future of the Woodcutter.

However, as the coronavirus pandemic hit he was worried about the future of the pub.

But he decided that his locals were missing their weekend cocktails and began a delivery service.

After just one day of the service, the pub was over-run with orders.

Last night the Woodcutter posted on their Facebook page: “We have been given the green light from Police Scotland, NLC licencing, Trading Standards and Environmental Health and we will start back tomorrow with our home delivery service with our cocktails .

“We will be open from 3pm tomorrow.”
