Lanarkshire primary school celebrates first nativity show in two years

Cambusnethan Primary School gave it their all to ensure this year’s nativity went ahead.

The school show was filmed this year, rather than having parents come to the school to see it in person.

Traditionally, the annual nativity is a fun event for parents and family to see their kids performing on stage.

But due to the ongoing pandemic, it was deemed safer to have a virtual performance.

And despite the lack of crowd support during the performance, the children put in lots of effort to make the show worth it, with sparkling costumes and props.

Principal teacher at the school, Michelle Simpson, said the performance was great to see after not having one last year.

She told Lanarkshire Live : “The nativity was organised by primary one teacher Miss Simpson.

“The parents should be seeing the show this week and I am sure they will love it.

"It was so great to see the P1 pupils in their nativity costumes, and we had Primary Seven pupils narrating too.

"It felt like a real team effort."
