Lanarkshire police “increasingly concerned” over welfare of missing Newmains man

Police in Lanarkshire say they are becoming “increasingly concerned” for the welfare of a Newmains man.

Now they have launched an appeal for help in tracing the 40-year-old.

James Ede was last seen leaving his home address around 7.30am on Tuesday (April 6).

He is described as a white man, around 5ft 10in tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Sergeant Greg Hunter told Lanarkshire Live : “This is out of character for James and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“We are asking for assistance to help trace him safe and well.”

When James was last seen he was wearing camouflage trousers carrying a black rucksack and fishing gear.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
