A worried Lanarkshire mum is appealing for help to trace her teenage son.
Rana Anderson, from Chapelhall, is desperate for 15-year-old son Rowen, who went missing from his home on Saturday, to get in touch.
Rana told Lanarkshire Live: "He left the house and my daughter Grace and his friend met with him at 4pm and tried to bring him home. I contacted the police as soon as he ran away and they said that since he had been spotted he was not in any immediate danger.
"He has run off before but he was found that day, so this is the first time that he hasn't come back or been with any of his friends. I'm in constant contact with his friends' parents."
In a recent Facebook post, Rana wrote: "Hi everyone, Rowen has gone missing. He has been missing since 4:30pm yesterday. If you see him please try to get him home. He will not come home on his own. He needs to be escorted. Here is a photo only difference is the top of his hair is dark blue now. He does suffer from mental illness. Please help if you can."
Lanarkshire Police Division has also issued a Facebook appeal for information on Rowen.
A statement read: "We are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace a 15 year old boy reported missing from Airdrie since 10pm on 28th August.
"Enquiries have confirmed that Rowen Anderson was last seen on a train at Sunnyside Rail Station, Coatbridge at 1am on 29th August 2021 and it is believed he may've been travelling into Glasgow.
"Rowen is described as 5"8, slim build, brown hair dyed a dark blue colour. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a burgundy school sweater and black and blue trainers. He was carrying a navy rucksack with a bright orange stripe which may contain a change of clothes, possibly a bright green zipper top and black jogging bottoms.
"Anyone who may have seen Rowen since this time, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 4649 of 28th August 2021."
