MSP Clare Adamson has urged constituents to take advantage of two new walk-through COVID-19 testing centres in Motherwell and Wishaw.
Wishaw Sports Centre and Aquatec, Motherwell will now act as test sites for people with and without symptoms.
The new Motherwell and Wishaw sites add to the 59 walk-through centres available across Scotland.
Ms Adamson, SNP MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw, told Lanarkshire Live : “I am glad the two new walk-through testing centres will be available right here in our Motherwell and Wishaw community.
"Our thanks must go to the frontline testers working to keep us safe.
“With the arrival of the new Omicron variant - which early evidence suggests may be more transmissible - regular testing is essential.
“We are lucky in Scotland in that we have access to free lateral flow test kits. So please, test yourself regularly and before any social activates.
“We have a difficult winter period ahead. Restrictions have now eased but that makes testing all the more important to protect other people around you.
“And it is vital that we stick to the public health measures in place: wearing face coverings in public places, maintaining good hygiene and ventilation, and, above all, getting vaccinated.”
