East Kilbride MP, Dr Lisa Cameron, helped clean up the town recently joining a litter-picking group.
She met East Kilbride Community Litter Pickers backing their 5X5 Litter Pledge.
The pledge aims for a cleaner, tidier East Kilbride and involves filling one bag with litter each week for five weeks with the group hoping to sign up 50 local East Kilbride residents to the cause.
Since the litter picking group was formed in March, it has gone from strength to strength with volunteers collecting thousands of bags of rubbish.
Ms Cameron joined the campaign at Calderglen Country Park alongside East Kilbride's Funcise Dance Explosion Musical Theatre Group.
She told Lanarkshire Live : "It was great to speak with Funcise Dance Explosion whom I joined to pledge to take part in the 5x5 Litter Campaign.
"We must all Take Pride in East Kilbride and EK Litter Pickers are leading the way to ensure that our town is restored to its natural beauty and remains litter free."
