A man who forced a plumber to retire after seriously injuring him in a car crash has nightmares about the ordeal.
Steven Donaldson, 47, struck his victim with his Mercedes 4x4 in Glasgow's Cambuslang on August 6, 2019.
The plumber - who was semi-retired - quit his job after suffering two vertebrae fractures on his neck.
Donaldson went on a rampage behind the wheel which saw four cars written off with one of them "flattened."
Donaldson was convicted by a jury at Glasgow Sheriff Court of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was also found guilty to a separate charge of failing to stop after an accident to give his name and address as well as the identification of the owner of the vehicle.
Donaldson, of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, was due to be sentenced today.
His lawyer Harvie Diamond told the court that Donaldson's actions were not deliberate.
Mr Diamond added: "He is clearly culpable and it was reckless.
"He didn't seek out to damage any of the properties.
"He has been considerably effected by this and wakes up at night with nightmares about it.
"Mr Donaldson is no longer driving - he sold his car - he is too nervous to drive."
Sheriff Sean Murphy QC questioned whether Donaldson would be able to do unpaid work after his background report suggested otherwise.
Sentence was deferred until next month for a further report to see if Donaldson would be able to do the work.
