Lanarkshire jewellers targeted by thieves on Christmas morning

Police are investigating after an attempted break-in at an East Kilbride jewellers on Christmas morning.

It is understood Beaverbrooks in EK, East Kilbride's Centre West was targeted by thieves during the festivities.

A Police Scotland source told us: "Enquiries are continuing following an attempted house-breaking at a jewellers shop in East Kilbride shopping centre around 6.20am on Sunday, December 25.

"Our enquiries are ongoing."

A spokeswoman for Beaverbrooks said: “We can confirm that there was an incident at our East Kilbride store in the early hours of the morning on December 25.

"We are doing everything we can to assist the police in their investigation and our store is now open and trading as usual.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
