A popular Lanarkshire jeweller is celebrating after being crowned the best independent retailer in Scotland.
This is the second year in a row that McKellars has been recognised as the best in the country, after winning the best specialised retailer in Scotland last year.
McKellars initially came out on top at the Lanarkshire Business Awards, from which they entered the Grand Final of Scotlands Business Awards and triumphed once again.
McKellars has been trading throughout Lanarkshire since 1904, and have been based in Lanark for the past 35 years.
While none of the McKellar family are now involved in the business, current owner Ken Scott and his son Dougie both work in the shops.
Ken told Lanarkshire Live: "Having won our category two years ago we really did not believe we would win the final for a second year running.
"The field is so large and diverse and trading conditions have been so difficult this past 18 months. To win for a second year running was truly mind-blowing.
"Our team works very hard to maintain a high level of professionalism and provide a service that is not only very personal and friendly but also wide-ranging.
"We are very grateful to all our customers for their continued loyalty and support and for taking the time and effort to vote for us. It is the residents of Lanark and the surrounding towns that keep our business alive and we know that without them and their support we would not be business.
"It is challenging times that we live in, especially for small businesses on the High Street. We hope we will still be here years from now, still providing answers to customers' questions and fulfilling their needs. Maybe even still winning the odd award like Scotlands Best Independent Retailer."
