A Lanarkshire golf club made it an egg-celent Easter weekend for local children.
Members of Greenhills Golf Club in East Kilbride teamed-up to give out over 100 free Easter eggs on Saturday.
Helped by nearby Morrisons supermarket in Lindsayfield, who donated 50 of the chocolate treats on the day, plenty of smiles were put on kids’ faces.
Club member Stephen McGrory organised the event - he told Lanarkshire Live it was great to give something back to the youngsters of the community.
Stephen added: “It means the world to us, myself and the golf club.
"If we can put a smile on faces that might not have gotten an egg this year, then it’s just fantastic.
“Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen enough in our community. And even our new members were on board with it and thought it was brilliant too.
“It was brilliant to see the kids smile, it was just fantastic. It’s nice to give a wee bit back to them, I was delighted to do it.
“It was scorching, it was a beautiful morning for it and seeing everyone on Easter Saturday. It went perfectly.
“We want to give a big thank you to Morrison’s who provided a fantastic number of donations of Easter Eggs which was a huge help.”
And the act of kindness rubbed off on others in the community who saw the Easter celebrations taking place outside the Greenhills Bar in the town.
Three locals who passed by on the day decided to join in the act of kindness and went to a shop nearby to buy more Easter eggs to help out.
