Lanarkshire funnyman Scott Agnew in hospital after suspected heart attack

Wellwishers from across the Scottish comedy world have sent their best wishes to Lanarkshire funnyman Scott Agnew, who is recovering in hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack.

The Rutherglen comic is believed to be in a stable condition after falling ill, with further tests being carried out.

Janey Godley, a pal of the comedian, said on social media: "Sending love to and healing vibes to Scott Agnew. He is in hospital after a heart issue, but is getting stronger."

Another pal posted on Facebook: "My very dear friend Scott Agnew is in hospital right now being treated for a heart attack during which his heart stopped three times.

"He’s had a stent fitted and is now undergoing more tests but is stable and feeling extremely lucky."

A friend also posted: "Just wanted to put a wee post up to send love and thoughts too our very own Scott Agnew one of the most beautiful human beings ever to walk this planet and one of my best friends.

"Wishing you a speedy recovery my friend."

Scott, a former Rutherglen Reformer journalist, has long been regarded as one of Scotland's best comedians, including winning the Scottish comedian of the Year prize in 2008.

He previously spoke to the Reformer about diagnosed with HIV, as well as his struggles with depression.
