A prominent Airdrie business will welcome visitors on exclusive tours of its headquarters factory to mark next month’s return of Doors Open Day.
Vegetable processing and packing plant Albert Bartlett is running guided behind-the-scenes tours on Sunday, September 18.
Booking for the popular tours opened at 9am today, Friday, August 12, with places available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The factory, at Stirling Road in Glenmavis, is one of the first venues across Lanarkshire to announce its participation in this year’s Doors Open event, run by the Scottish Civic Trust.
It sees a wide range of attractions including museums, historic buildings and “hidden treasures” welcome in guests for tours, exhibitions and activities; with both North and South Lanarkshire venues taking part on the weekend of September 18 and 19.
Other participating venues across the county are due to be confirmed in the coming weeks, with information being posted online.
Places on the Bartlett’s tours can be reserved for groups of up to four people by emailing info@albertbartlett.com from Friday morning.
Those making bookings should give contact details, the number of places required and indicate their choice of the three available tour times, at 9am, 10am or 11am.
Doors Open co-ordinator Adam Smith, the Cumbernauld East councillor, said: “North Lanarkshire will again see a packed programme of venues across this year’s weekend; the programme will be confirmed soon and I encourage everyone to keep an eye online for details.”
