Lanarkshire estate agents donate profits to cancer charity ahead of fundraising ball

A Motherwell estate agent is donating a percentage of its profits to a cancer charity.

Hemmings Homes, based in Brandon Street, are donating some sales profits to the Beatson Cancer Charity.

A spokeswoman for the firm, who also has an office in Cambuslang, explained how both offices joined together in partnership with the Beatson to help out.

She told Lanarkshire Live : “Due to the property market booming at the moment, we have decided to give something back.

“The idea came around at a team meeting, all seven staff from our Cambuslang and Motherwell offices were in straight agreement.

“We plan to give a certain amount of our sales fee from every sale that completes this year as well as planning to do other events and challenges.”

A charity ball is due to be held on Friday, October 7, at Dalziel Park in Motherwell and the office is currently selling tickets to individuals as well as companies, who are also able to buy tables at the ball.

On the night there will be an auction as well as a raffle in a bid to raise as much money as possible for the Beatson.

Lesley Martin, senior property negotiator at Hemmings, added: “We plan to raise £22,000 for 2022 and if we can do that it would be a fantastic achievement.

“The ball at Dalziel Park will be a chance for us to raise a huge amount of money for the charity and I’m sure we can.”

A Beatson Cancer Charity spokesperson told us: “We are so grateful Hemmings Homes are donating a percentage of each house sold in 2022 to our charity.

“This is an incredible contribution, which will help us to support cancer patients and their families throughout their cancer journey.

“Not only is the business supporting us through house sales, but also by holding several fundraising activities too.

"We cannot thank them enough.”
