Lanarkshire drug thug threatened to kill police officers with a knife

A drug overdose victim threatened to kill police officers who'd just helped save his life.

Violent Connor Scott, of Carluke, yelled: “Get me a f***ing knife. I'm going for your throats with a lockback."

A court heard he had to be strapped on a hospital bed as he spat and lashed out.

Scott, 25, had been rushed to accident and emergency after being found lifeless in the street in the early hours.

He was resuscitated, but as medics prepared to assess him he became aggressive.

Scott warned police officers: "When I get out the jail I'll find you. I'll punch f**k out of every cop."

Scott appeared from custody via videolink at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.

He admitted threatening or abusive behaviour at University Hospital Wishaw on April 12.

He also admitted trying to bite a police officer and trying repeatedly to spit at him.

Mairi-Clare McMillan, prosecuting, said the accused was under the influence of drugs and "became violent" despite police attempts to calm him.

She stated: "He tried to get off the hospital bed and eventually was put in leg straps and handcuffed."

Defence agent Stephen McQuillan said Scott's family had called the emergency services after finding him lying in the street.

The lawyer stated: "He'd taken drugs and they couldn't revive him, but eventually he was resuscitated.

"This started as a welfare trip to hospital and there is no excuse for his behaviour thereafter.

"Street Valium and other drugs have been an unfortunate feature of his life."

Sentence was deferred for reports and Scott, who admitted previous convictions, was remanded in custody.
