Lanarkshire cops say concern is 'growing' over missing man last seen on Monday

Police in Kilsyth have launched an appeal for help in tracing a man missing from his home.

Alexander McMillan was last seen in the town's Donaldson Avenue at around 11.45pm on Monday (April 22), failing to return home.

Investigating officers said family and friends have not spoken with the 46-year-old in that time.

Sergeant Greig McKail told Lanarkshire Live: “Alexander has now not returned home for two nights and as time goes on we are becoming increasingly concerned for him.

“We have been speaking to those who know him and are appealing for anyone who may have spoken to Alexander to get in touch.

“He knows the Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch areas well – we would ask anyone in this area to think back.

"Have you seen a man that could have been Alexander?”

Alexander is described as white, around 6ft 1in, with receding hair and a large bushy beard.

It was unknown what he is wearing when he was last seen, but he is believed to have taken a rucksack with him, and what appeared to be a fishing rod.

Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
