A Hamilton care home organised a series of positive wellbeing activities for residents and staff alike during Mental Health Awareness week.
Lornebank Care Centre, on Lorne Street, have understandably dealt with several challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this in mind, staff there decided to organise different activities to promote positive wellbeing as well as to open up the discussion around mental health within the home by creating their own awareness board.
The board allowed staff and residents the opportunity to share any thoughts, pictures or words of wisdom around the matter.
Residents also took part in their own design competition, where each unit beautifully decorated t-shirts with a ‘mindfulness’ theme - and the results were fantastic.
Lornebank also organised a range of more light-hearted activities, to ensure the week was fun as well as meaningful.
Such activities included the staff taking part in 'It’s a Knockout', which involved lots of fun games which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Residents also had a joke competition and participated in light yoga.
The week finished off with a relaxation day on Saturday filled with movies and snacks, followed by a special afternoon tea and cake on Sunday where staff and residents were also encouraged to share what matters to them.
A spokeswoman for Lornebank Care Centre told Lanarkshire Live : "It was a lovely way to round off a wonderful week.
"It really brought both staff and residents together as they shared what was most important to them."
