Aldi in Strathaven is preparing to close it’s doors – but only temporarily.
The store in Waterside Street will shut up shop on July 26 for four months while it undergoes refurbishment works.
When the store reopens in November, it will have a new layout with wider aisles.
A spokesman for the store told Lanarkshire Live said: “We will close our Strathaven store to carry out refurbishment works.
“When we reopen in the autumn, the store will be in our new layout, which ensures more space for fresh, chilled and food-to-go ranges. It will be much brighter with simpler layouts.
“We will keep the community updated on developments.”
Earlier this year, the supermarket chain announced that it is investing more than £3.7m in upgrading stores across Lanarkshire.
Aldi in Rutherglen has also been selected for a ‘Project Fresh’ and is currently undergoing refurbishment works, which includes a new layout and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.
Staff from affected store will be temporarily relocated to other local stores until refurbishment works are complete.
Aldi says the improvement works in each store will “provide customers with a more efficient and hassle-free shopping experience.”
The budget brand continues to champion quality Scottish produce, with 25 per cent of its range locally sourced.
The firm has 96 stores throughout Scotland and is set to reach its 100th store milestone by the end of the year.
This latest investment is part of a long-term target to reach 1200 stores in the UK by 2025.
