A car was deliberately set on fire in Motherwell on Thursday, February 18.
Police are appealing for information on the incident that is believed to have taken place at around 8.50pm at Shields Court in the Muirhouse area of the town.
The grey Audi A3 was found in flames in the street’s car park, and officers are keen to speak to a man spotted at the time carrying a ‘bag for life’ style carrier bag in the area.
Detectives in Motherwell also ask locals to come forward with available CCTV or dash-cam footage to assist in their enquiry.
The man seen at the time was walking from Shields Road to Shields Court. He was wearing dark coloured clothes and carrying a ‘bag for life’.
Detective Constable Sharon McBride said: “We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time to get in touch, particularly if you have private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.
“We would also like to speak to the man seen in the area at the time, or anyone who might know who he is.
“Anyone with information should contact us on 101, quoting incident 3316 of Thursday, 18 February, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
