Lanark boss predicts Glasgow Perthshire reaction after eight-goal thrashing

Lanark boss Jamie McKenzie believes Glasgow Perthshire will be looking for revenge after being hit for eight by his side just two weeks ago.

The clubs face off in West of Scotland League Conference C again this Saturday shortly after the 8-4 trouncing by the Yowes in McKenzie’s first match.

The gaffer said: “We have to be aware that there might be a bit of a reaction from the last game.

“Knowing the way they play they will be very physical. They have had a very similar squad for the past couple of years, and they are a good side.

“They don’t usually lose many goals. It seems strange saying that after we scored eight, but they will be smarting from that.

“We need to forget about that game. We did well and we rightly took the plaudits from it, but we go in with a game plan like any other game.”

It has been the perfect start for McKenzie at Moor Park after the 4-2 win over Drumchapel last weekend.

“It’s good that we have played two and won two,” he added.

“We are on a wee run just now and we want to keep that going.

“I was impressed with the way we reacted on Saturday after I had put some tough questions to them on Saturday.

“It’s about developing an understanding with the players, and they also need to understand that my levels don’t drop. I expect them to keep going up every week.”
