Younger members of the club had a chance to shine when 23 swimmers under the age of 12 competed at the Alloa ASC Meet at the Peak in Stirling.

In the 8-10 years age group, Evi Mackie won five from five to win best girl in her age category.

Calum MacDonald took a fifth and sixth-placed medal in the same age group for 50m breaststroke and 100m individual medley.

Justin Bone won three golds, two bronze and a sixth place in the 11-12 years age group, while Craig Shaw won 100m breaststroke.

Samantha Pratt was sixth in 50m freestyle.

An eight-strong Lanark squad previously competed in the East Kilbride Graded Meet at Larkhall.

In the 11-12 years age category, Katie Towers won 100m breaststroke and there was a silver for Abbie Barnstaple in 100m butterfly.

New best ever times were set by Chelsea Millward, Casey Thomson, Helena Ramage and Claudia Wood.

After the second meet, coach Karen Kelly said: “There was some excellent swimming from Lanark in both meets.

“The swimmers set 86 new personal bests, which was a fine return for their efforts.”
