'Even on holiday, Lee Johnson has Aston Villa fans on strings' - The Adam Webster view that Bristol City fans will love

Bristol City fans have had a day to remember.

The Robins rejected a derisory bid for Adam Webster from Aston Villa and then, later in the day, announced Jay Dasilva had turned his loan move from Chelsea into a permanent transfer.

Reacting to the news, City fans could barely hide their delight.

Adam Webster of Bristol City against Villa last season (Rogan/JMP)

Phillippa: I rated him so highly when he was with us on loan. So glad he's signed on the dotted line!

Lloyd Robinson: I'm amazed Chelsea re allowing these players to leave, especially as they have an embargo on buying and without a manager, because if Lampard becomes manager he would keep these players.

Lauren: Stuck a £30 mill price tag on Webster to put the Prem teams off and sign Dasilva permanently, love my club.

BCFC Oliver the Dog: What a day - JDS is back permanently and we tell Villa to do one on the Webster bid - if Carlsberg did Wednesdays.

Will Venton: I got my uni results earlier and this is still the best news I've had all day.

Adam Goodwin: Bristol City sell Lloyd Kelly for £13 million and sign Jay Dasilva for £2 million. Incredible business.

Brendon Mitchell: Two England Under-21 full-backs joined new clubs today. One cost £50m, the other cost £2m. I reckon Crystal Palace and Bristol City have done alright there, you know.

Damien Matthews: Absolutely delighted to hear Jay Dasilva has signed. Really good news for the club. A quality left back and England Under-21 international - really pleased he wants to stay and continue his career with us.

With Villa and the Robins supporters having developed a somewhat testy relationship over the past couple of years, City fans were also satisfied with the news about Webster.

Kory: Bristol City: 'We want £30 million for Webster.' Aston Villa: 'we’re massive so how about £12 million?'

Bristol Del Boy: Need to keep hold of him, crucial to us of having any chance of progressing.

Coxy: Laughable offer.

Big Al: Swear, I'll cry if we sell him.

Jon Dolman: £35m if it's Villa.

Jack Gillett: Even on his holidays, LJ has the Villa fans on strings.
